When I building something for myself it’s something I struggle with all time. “Let’s not spend too much time planning. Let’s get something out there and change things when the bullets start flying.” That’s something I’d probably say.
I really enjoyed this part of the most recent EconTalk podcast with author Amor Towles. Amor is talking about why he outlines and plans his novels so much. The short of it, doing all that left brain work in advance frees the right brain to work when the bullets are flying.
Or, as TOM SACHS would say, creativity is the enemy.
