A couple of months ago, we were looking to get an electric lawn mower. As is our family tradition, we started down the research rabbit hole in hopes to grok the entire landscape of electric mowers. Two hours in, I stopped us and said, “I think we’d be happier if we just bought the Ryobi and quit researching.”

Top five greatest suggestions of my life. The marginal improvements provided by other lawn mowers weren’t worth the effort.

Often, I think about the electric lawn mower rabbit hole when I hear a new company pitch. You hear of marginal improvements or small additional features. I think, “it’s not worth the effort.”

Every once in a while, I hear a line that makes me jump up and say, “now that’s worth the effort.” That’s always fun.
