Andrew McConnell mentioned that the Daily Stoic was his most gifted to others book.

I wondered what mine was. What I learned is used to buy a lot more books not on Amazon. There are a ton of books that I had in triplicate all the time ready to give away when it was brought up in conversation. None of those are in my Amazon order history.

If I were to guess, my number one has to be The Black Swan by Nassim Nicholas Taleb. The very broad pitch for this book is, it’s more important to worry about impact over probability. If something is likely to happen, but doesn’t change much in your life – NBD. However, if it’s highly unlikely to happen, but disrupts everything. Pay attention.

There’s a lot more to the idea though and that’s why reading the book is, you know, helpful.

Another book that I haven’t thought of in years, but was reminded of when looking through my orders is Mission Street Food: Recipes and Ideas from an Improbable Restaurant. The first half is a well-written book that tells the story starting a business and the second half is a kickass cookbook. I gave that book away a bunch according to Amazon.
